Re: What did you do to your FJ recently?

It finally cooled off enough for me to get my AllPro sliders installed. I ordered them bare metal as I was no paying an extra $100 for powdercoat plus another $100 for shipping after powdercoating. Instead I opted to just rattle-can them flat black. Got them cleaned and prepped for primer- https://i...

*SOLD* OEM Toyota sliders for sale

Got a heavily used set of OEM Toyota sliders for sale in the SoCal area. These sliders have been beaten like they owed me money and still kept coming back for more. I did take a can of flat black to make them look a little bit nicer, but make no mistake, these have been scratched, dented, dragged ac...

Re: What did you do to your FJ recently?

For the longest time, I have been trying to track down a clicking sound that was coming from the front drivers side. This clicking sound was happening whenever the suspension would flex pretty hard so it really only happened when I was off road. In this video from our last AAT day, you can hear the ...

Before my time

I was drunken youtubing and came across this gem.
@BigDouggieDoug Perhaps you can enlighten us?

This was obviously before stabilizing camera phones were made.

Re: What did you do to your FJ recently?

I did some upgrades today. I noticed that after our last trip through Holcomb and Gold Mountain that one of my rear LCAs had taken a hit and was bent significantly. So I decided to beef them up with the MetalTech kit. New LCAs and upper links. https://i.imgur.com/otPLcad.jpg https://i.imgur.com/EqbW...

You might check Amazon as well for the coil packs. I picked up 4 new packs for my Camry for around $20. They are Chinese crap, but I have had zero issues with them.

Re: What did you do to your FJ recently?

The main reason I want it is to keep my battery topped up throughout the times when I am not driving it. My FJ will sit sometimes months and I neglect to start it or drive it during those times. I went to start it the other day and it just barely started. My hopes is that this panel will keep the ba...

Re: What did you do to your FJ recently?

I hope so. I figure I can still get a couple gas cans and an ice chest up there if needed. Only time will tell I suppose. On the long trips like the Mojave trail, I usually take the back seats out for that extra space. Getting stuff on and off the roof is a PIA so I only do when its absolutely needed.

Re: What did you do to your FJ recently?

Picked up a 100 watt solar panel from Harbor Freight this weekend plus a solar charge controller from Amazon. $86 for the panel and $15 for the controller. After testing the panel with a multimeter, I found that it exceeds its power ratings so I am very pleased with it. It was a bitch mounting it to...

Re: AAT: Trail Maintenance - 2N06X . Saturday 04-24-2021

I finally got around to fixing my crushed exhaust issue. https://i.imgur.com/iJl6aPw.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Bfel9ee.jpg And hopefully some good news. Looks like I did not rip my CV boot. I cleaned all the grease up, searched for tears and could not find any. That being said, I put a new clamp on th...
